The Palestinian Sunbird design was one of our first Free Palestine designs and one of our first designs in general. It features a big red triangle with the text “Freedom” above in an iconic font. Within the big red triangle it features three years, 1948 (Nakba), 2023 (Oct 7th), and 2026 (Operation True Promise IV & V).

Hi! The design of this shirt honestly does not make much sense. I understand the theme of the shirt is touching on the topic of freedom for Palestine, hence the mention of the years 1948 (the Nakba) and 2023 (October 7th), but what does 2026 have to do with this shirt? There is another year that would be more relevant here. Additionally, why is the circle behind the triangle not going over the triangle at any point? It looks like kid’s first attempt at using Adobe Illustrator in their graphics design class in high school/middle school. Your use of the circle is also confusing in yet another metaphorical way. With the star so close to 1948 (year of the Nakba), one can draw the interpretation that this shirt wants to state that “history will repeat itself”, however if you claim to support a free Palestine, the message should in fact be “history WILL NOT repeat itself”. This shirt design is nonsensical and has no thought put into it *and* no credit towards the artist regardless of how poorly designed it is (“graphic design is my passion” vibes). You should consider commissioning an artist to actually design this *WITHOUT* using AI art OR AI mockups.
